Translator:

A translator is much like having a low power radio station. The only exception is a translator can’t originate programming. It must re-broadcast the signal of a primary station.

In an effort to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Christian radio at IBN, we must grow by broadening and expanding our borders. The only means we have of spreading out are through other radio stations or translators. We can purchase existing radio stations, or if there is an available frequency we can file with the FCC to receive a construction permit and license to build our own. This would be considered a primary signal. Translators also come in handy. They provide what’s called a secondary signal and with this you are only allowed a small amount of power (or wattage). Translators pick up our primary signal and re-broadcast it on a different frequency to avoid interfering with other radio stations.

WCCV:

WCCV signed on the air in January 1983 as a 100 watt station. This was the culmination of a vision that God gave to Ed Tuten in 1979. The power was increased to 7.3kW and we moved our main transmitter site to Mullinax Mountain in Taylorsville, GA. The call letters of WCCV stand for With Christ Comes Victory

WJCK:

WJCK signed on the air in Cedartown, GA in 1994. We moved WJCK to Piedmont, AL and the power was increased to 2.7kW in March 1999. The transmitter is located on Chimney Peak. Our call letters stand for Where Jesus Christ is King.
